NEW STUDENT OPTIONS

(Updated August 5th, 2026) Thank you for dropping in to explore our TQSpirit Community

Exploring something new can feel both exciting and uncertain — and with Tai Chi and Qigong, the timing of when you begin can shape how supported and confident you feel in the classes. Both Tai Chi and Qigong builds gradually, step by step, but in much different ways. Please check out the differences below!

If you are exploring Tai Chi or Health Qigong for the first time, we invite you to step into the steady, supportive atmosphere of the TQSpirit community and discover how these time-honoured practices can nurture balance, strength, and calm in everyday life.

We encourage you to explore the website in its entirety and read through the class descriptions. Notice what resonates with you. Some students are drawn to the free-flowing variety of Qigong. Others feel called toward the progressive unfolding of Tai Chi. Both paths cultivate balance, calm focus, and steady vitality — the difference is often simply the rhythm of learning that feels right for you.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION UPDATE FOR NEW STUDENTS

(Updated August 1st, 2026)

Registration for September–December 2026 classes will begin on Monday, August 3rd, 2026 for students who have been granted Priority Registration Status. If you are not a current student you still have an opportunity to SAVE YOUR SPOT in a class not yet filled through Priority Registration or Save your Spot on a Waitlist!

What is Priority Registration Status?

Priority Registration Status gives approved students early access to register before classes are opened to the general public. Students can “save a spot” and then register between August 3-6th. This helps TQSpirit place current students, returning students, and approved new students into classes in a careful and organized way before remaining spaces are released more widely.

New to TQSpirit? Here is what you need to do? FIRST, check out the website and determine what is the best day and time for you to getting active with our Tai Chi and Qigong (TQ) classes. SECOND, once you know which class will work best, you can fill in the SAVE MY SPOT form! Select your class well ahead of August 3rd by signing up, using this form.  SAVE MY SPOT!. Our TQ Administration will be in touch with you within 24-48 hours if you will get to register in advance on August 3rd with other Priority Registration Students.

If a class is full, see from the list below, then use Save your Spot to get on the Waitlist. This is important since a spot might open up after the Priority Registration is finalized on August 6th, 2026.

General public registration is scheduled to open on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, for any remaining spaces. If the Waitlist reads “closed” it is because we have reached our limit for the number of enthusiastic people who have joined it.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO JOIN A TAI CHI CLASS?

  • If you are new to Tai Chi, the most supportive time to begin is at the start of a new session. This allows you to build strong foundations and learn alongside others who are also beginning their journey. Tai Chi forms unfold progressively. Movements are layered carefully over weeks and months, creating continuity and depth in the learning process. Because of this gradual progression, some classes may be mid-cycle and not currently open to new registrations. This is not about exclusivity — it is about honouring the integrity of the form and ensuring every student feels confident and supported as they learn.
  • If you are interested in beginning Tai Chi in 2026, we invite you to reach out. We are always happy to guide you toward the most appropriate starting point.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO JOIN A HEALTH QIGONG CLASS?

With our Health Qigong classes you can join anytime! No experience is required!

  • Check out more information below:

  • Health Qigong offers a welcoming and accessible entry point for many new students. Because each class includes a variety of exercises and forms practiced within a single session, it is often possible to join partway through a series — provided space is available.
  • Many of our TQSpirit Fusion classes move through body-warming flows, gentle stretching, strengthening, balance work, and a wide variety of Health Qigong forms.
  • There is nothing long to memorize, unless you want to. You arrive, move, breathe, and gradually feel the benefits. Each class is unique.
  • If you are unsure about availability, simply contact us and we will let you know what options are currently open.
  • To find out if a drop-in is still available please go here: DROP-IN UPDATES
  • Full registrations are the most popular, and we do accept pro-rated (if there is space). Depending on registration the 4-packs and drop-ins may be limited time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NEW STUDENTS

  • Some of the classes are both In-Person and Live-On-Zoom (hybrid), while others are In-person only or Zoom only. Space is limited for all In-Person classes to preserve a quality learning environment, so you’ll want to register early to secure your spot. HOW TO REGISTER
  • Some classes provide Videos for a small additional fee. Videos are really useful as they help you practice throughout the week. These are especially helpful for home practice between classes. When registering, you will see which classes include video options. For more information about the Video Options, check out which classes have videos here:  VIDEO ADD-ONS
  • If you have any questions about any of the classes please CONTACT US by email or phone! We are happy to help.
  • Want to hear from others who have joined us? Visit the TESTIMONIALS page.
  • Not sure what to expect or what to wear for your first class? See more details below. Click here to check out our NEW STUDENT FAQS

OUR KEEP HEALTHY POLICIES

      • Unless mandated by the Provincial Health Authority you are welcome to wear a mask – or not – according to your preference. If you are feeling under the weather, we encourage you to take advantage of Zoom access where available. Many students join us from home or while travelling.
      • Should public health guidelines require adjustments, classes will transition to Zoom as needed.
