Saturday Qigong HUC:10:00am-10:55am

Saturday Qigong will awaken and elevate your TQSpirit

In Autumn our Saturday Qigong practice becomes a beautiful way to gather ourselves together again. Autumn is often known as the season of change — a time of letting go, refining what matters, and returning to the rhythm of the breath. In Qigong, this seasonal energy invites us to move with greater awareness, calm the mind, and reconnect with the quiet strength that lives within.

This Saturday class offers a warm and uplifting start to the weekend, with benefits that can carry you through the entire week. Through flowing movements, gentle breathwork, standing practices, and a variety of Chinese Health Qigong forms, students are encouraged to soften tension, improve balance, support posture, and cultivate a deeper sense of ease. The practice is accessible, nourishing, and quietly powerful — a place where the body can move, the breath can open, and the spirit can brighten.

Autumn Qigong often draws our attention to the lungs, the breath, and the natural rhythm of release. Without forcing or overthinking, students learn to move in ways that feel spacious, grounded, and restorative. Each class offers an opportunity to let the busyness of the week settle, to breathe more fully, and to step into the weekend feeling clearer, lighter, and more connected. Each class helps rejuvenate you for starting again with the week ahead.

Qigong has a way of making you feel alive, grounded, and uplifted all at once. Through steady repetition, conscious breathing, and seasonal intention, tension softens, energy circulates more freely, and the body gradually remembers its natural ease. Many leave class feeling lighter, more centred, and quietly energized—like nature itself coming fully back to life.

Come for the Qigong. Return for the connection and the joy of shared energy

On Saturdays, whether you join In-Person or Live-On-Zoom, the experience is deeply supportive and often transformative. In-person practice allows you to feel the Qi in the room—the shared current of energy that fills our Saturday mornings.

That same sense of connection extends to our Live-On-Zoom participants. Zoom brings you closer — literally — to each movement, each cue, and each breath, wherever you are. Many students are surprised by how strongly they can feel the Qi and the community even while practising from home. When you join on Zoom, you’ll be welcomed by one of our TQSpirit Volunteer Greeters, who will know your name, help you settle in, and answer any questions you may have about how the classes work.

Our Saturday Qigong Zoomers gather from across the North Shore, throughout British Columbia, across Canada, and from other countries as well. Snowbirds and travellers often join us from warm climates, mountain cabins, or beach-side retreats—remaining connected to their Qigong practice and community wherever life takes them.

Come for the Qigong. Feel the change of the seasons. Register early. This popular class fills quickly!

Come for the Qigong. Return for the connection and the joy of shared energy

All you need to know about this Hybrid Rejuvenating Health Qigong class

This Saturday Qigong class takes place at Highlands United Church in the beautiful Edgemont Village area of North Vancouver. In-person students practise together in a welcoming community setting, with time to settle in, move gently, and enjoy the shared energy of the room.

Live-On-Zoom students are also an important part of this class. Many students join us from home, from other communities, while travelling, or when they are unable to attend in person. The Zoom experience allows students to continue their practice with consistency and feel connected to the class community wherever they are.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. For In-Person, we suggest wear flat, clean, light, flexible indoor shoes are recommended for in-person students. We do not recommend bare feet. No special equipment is required for this class unless otherwise announced. Students are encouraged to arrive a little early so they can settle in, greet the TQSpirit team, and begin the morning with ease.

This is not a class about perfection. It is a class about returning — returning to the breath, returning to the body, returning to balance, and returning to the quiet light within. Autumn reminds us that change can be beautiful, and Qigong gives us a gentle way to move through that change with grace.

In this unique Health Qigong class, we explore a rich and ever-changing mix of Qigong forms — from slow, meditative practices that calm the nervous system, to more rhythmical and expansive movements that gently energize the whole body. Each class weaves together movement, breath, mindful stretching, healing sounds, and seasonal intention, supporting strength, flexibility, balance, and overall vitality.

Autumn practice invites us to gather, refine, and return to the breath. As the season changes, Qigong helps us soften tension, open the chest, nourish the lungs, and create space for deeper breathing and inner calm. Movements may be gentle and meditative, expansive and flowing, or quietly strengthening — helping Qi circulate smoothly through the body while supporting posture, balance, and emotional steadiness. While we follow the seasonal qualities of Autumn and the Metal element, we also continue to practise well-loved, well-rounded Qigong forms that support all 12 meridians and the body as a whole.

Each class is guided, adaptable, and layered — allowing everyone to move comfortably at their own pace while still being inspired to grow. The variety keeps the practice fresh, nourishing, and deeply supportive throughout the session. Some practices help us release what we no longer need; others help us gather strength, restore clarity, and reconnect with the quiet light within.

Our Saturday Qigong group is beautifully diverse, with participants ranging in age from their mid-20s to over 90. Everyone moves in their own way. Some come for the enjoyment of healthy movement, healing sounds, breathwork, and friendship. Others seek strength, flexibility, pain relief, stress relief, or internal support while navigating life’s challenges, including recovery from illness, chronic conditions, or emotional stress. Mostly, people join in because it just feels good, the joy of movement and the shared Qi. It simply feels good and that sense of renewal that carries into daily life.

This class attracts participants from all walks of life and across generations — proof that Qigong truly is for everyone.

Come for the healing; return for the laughter, the shared breath, and the deep sense of renewal.

No experience necessary—just bring your breath, your curiosity, and your willingness to explore.
