          • In times when weapons were banned the Fan served as a formidable alternative to swords or knives. Nowadays, the fan helps train the qi and its movements help increase body awareness and mindful moving meditation. It is an energetic form enjoyed by all ages.
          • Both men and women will enjoy learning this form and will appreciate its choreography as it combines slow and faster movements with fajin (power). The Fan form can help develop your focus, flexibility, strength, balance on one leg, body posture, and brain body connections.

        4. Thursday Yin Yang Taiji – 26 form
          • This Taiji form is suitable to all ages as the movements can be performed slow or fast, hard or soft, depending on a person’s health and fitness.
          • It combines styles of movement from Yang, Chen, Sun and Wu.
          • In Yin-Yang Taiji Thirteen Postures, every movement is done on both left and right side for balance. Each movement has its yin and yang, soft and hard counterparts. The movements embody both explicit and hidden power as well as soft and explosive power.
          • These classes are In-Person only at St. Andrews St. Stephens Presbyterian Church in Upper Lonsdale.
        5. Thursday Tai Chi Qigong Fusion
          • This evening class combines 1/2 hour of warm-up and Chinese Health Qigong with 1/2 hour of Tai Chi form.

          • The 108 Traditional Yang form Tai Chi is perfect for beginners or long-timers wanting to refine their movements.
          • Most might be surprised to learn that Tai Chi is an exercise regime that is great for all ages, especially those in the 30-50 age group who are working and playing hard throughout the week. Practicing Tai Chi has proven to improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility and reduce all the pent up stress that accumulated in the work week. The breathing techniques, meditations, and focus learned in Tai Chi really helps those with hectic lifestyles. It’s moving meditation will help you find a sense of inner peace and tranquility.
          • It is best to start Tai Chi at the beginning of a session. Drop-Ins are only permitted in the first few weeks.
          • All students will have the option to practice throughout the week with recorded videos.

We provide videos as an ADD-ON to students in selected classes:
                • Wednesday Chen Style
                • Wednesday Fan Form
                • Thursday Yin Yang Taiji
                • Saturday The 108
                • Saturday Qigong

The videos are provided to help students review and practice the tai chi form(s) they are learning. In the case of the Qigong, it allows the student to practice throughout the week.
Why practice? It is important to practice throughout the week so that you gain the full benefits of Tai Chi and Health Preserving and Enhancing Qigong.

The best way is to sign up for the Videos at the time you fully register for your classes. If you forget to sign up for them, or realize you might want them after the first few classes, then you can do so at a later time by going to Autumn Add-Ons. You can sign on to receive the Video Add-Ons at any time. In most cases you will get the opportunity to view them for a week after which they expire.

All classes have a limit to the number of students. Please inquire for more information.
We request that all students practice social distancing. Wearing masks is optional.
